Our Lake Tahoe Trip...
September 01, 2008
We are back from our Lake Tahoe trip. I know you all have been waiting to find out how our little get away was. It went great. We got there in the afternoon on Friday. We stopped and took some pictures at Emerald Bay. That is a really pretty part of the lake. It is on the South/West side of Lake Tahoe. The water looks Emerald green. We also stopped at a craft fair when we made it to the South side. Our hotel was really nice. It was right on the lake. There was a sanding beach right behind us. It was right on the marina. Our room was really funny. Husband's mom got us the handicap room because it was the only way they could guarantee us a non-smoking room. The light switches were really lows and the bathroom had a seat and 2 shower heads. Everything was wide enough for a wheelchair. Very goofy for us very tall people. We should have taken pictures, but we forgot to. Friday night was the family dinner. It was right on the pier right by us. It was walking distance. We had a nice time taking to Erik's friends, John and Heather. They are really nice people. Saturday we got up early and got ready because we were going on a little road trip to Virginia City, NV. We went through Carson City. It was a nice ride. It took us about an hour and a half. We spent the day there. We had a really great time looking through all the shops. We had lunch and then we headed back to Lake Tahoe. The wedding wasn't until 6 pm. The wedding was held at the Edgewood Golf Course. It was at there club house. It was really short and sweet. It ended up being really windy outside. It was right by the lake. Really pretty. The reception was right after in the club house. It was really nice. They had a dinner buffet and we stayed until they cut the cake. It was a long but very fun day. Sunday we got up and took our time getting out of town. We did some window shopping and went to a casino and played some slots. We lost, but it still was fun. We took the long way around the lake and went back through Old Town Truckee. We ate lunch there. It was a nice scenic ride. We got home around 3:30 pm.
Today we spent the day relaxing. We had a BBQ with my mom for the holiday. It was nice. We hope you all had a fun holiday weekend. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

So, we are off to Lake Tahoe this morning. My brother Erik is getting married (2nd for him, 1st for her) on Saturday evening. Aside from that we are glad to be going out of town and get a change of scenery. Tahoe is about 2 to 2 - 1/2 hours from us so it should be a nice drive.Everybody have a nice Labor Day weekend! We'll post when we get back on Sunday.
Twilight Books are DONE!!
August 26, 2008
I've done it!! I have finished all 4 books. I can't believe it! I don't usually read books because for some reason I forget what I have already read. Not with these. I have remembered ALL OF THEM!! I LOVE THESE BOOKS!! These are the best books EVER! I highly recommend them to all of you. Originally when we started reading these books back in July, Husband was reading them to me. Well, I was very impatient to wait for his reading that I read them while he was at work. I didn't tell him until Sunday. I had to say something because I was almost done with Breaking Dawn (the last book). I thought he would be mad, but he wasn't. He has only finished reading Twilight and one chapter of New Moon. Breaking Dawn is the longest book and I finished it in 5 days. That is not normal for me. It usually takes me forever to get through a book. I was only able to read while Dean was at work and no weekends. My favorite book is Twilight, but I also really like Breaking Dawn. They all are very good. If any of you have read it, let me know what you think. Did you guys like the books? I can't wait for the movie. It is now coming out in November 21. I can't wait!! So, this is what I have been doing for the last month. I have been very busy during the days! I am very sad that is it over. I am going to start reading Twilight again.
22 Month LIDversary...
August 24, 2008
22 months and still counting!!! Today we are celebrating our 22 month LIDversary. Can you believe that we have waited this long for our little Ali Shea. We can't. When we started this whole process of adopting from China we were told it would be 10-12 months. Well, that was back in May of 06'. RIGHT!! Well, we are still waiting and we will wait how ever long it takes to bring Ali Shea home. I think the current wait is up to 30+ months right now. We know that Ali Shea is not coming home this year and maybe not next year, but she will be home some day! We WILL wait for her! So, today we will celebrate Ali Shea. I am not to sure on what we will be doing because Husband is on call this weekend. I will post later and let you guys know what we did. Ali Shea: We love you so much. We are still waiting for you, little one! We can't wait until you are home with us. We are sending you hugs and kisses were ever you are.

New Tattoo...
August 19, 2008
Guess what I did last night....I got a new tattoo. This is my "Alicyn Shea" tattoo. It has a flying ladybug (Ali Shea) and 2 daisies(green one is for Dean and the purple one is for me) and there are 8 dots on the ladybug for good luck. This is just the beginning. Once Ali Shea comes home, then I will finish it. I will add 3 more daisies (one for each pooch) so they are closer to the ladybug. Then a red ribbon with Ali Shea's full name and Family day. I love my new tattoo. It is on my left leg. What do you guys think. Leave a comment and let us know.
