Weekend Updates...
October 28, 2007
We have had a busy weekend. Lots of stuff to do in so little time. We hope that everyone had a great and productive...ok...relaxing weekend.
Friday...We went out to dinner with Dean's parents to celebrate our 1 yr LIDversary. We went to Ruby Tuesday. It was a nice dinner. Jo Ann gave me this beautiful Jade bracelet that she got when they were in China a few years ago. I am to give it to Alicyn Shea when she gets older. After dinner, Husband and I went to the mall a did a little shopping. We got Alicyn Shea the cutest Hello Kitty purse with a stuffed Hello Kitty. I can just see her walking around the house with her cute purple Hello Kitty purse being such a girly girl. Then we went a Christmas store and checked out all the ornaments. I know, we haven't even had Halloween, yet. I love looking at Christmas stuff. We ended up buying the cutest Boyd's elephant. It is so soft and cuddly. I had to have it. Here is a picture of both the elephant and Jade bracelet.
Saturday...Mom and I went yard sale shopping. Didn't find anything. Too late in the season. Husband and I had an appointment to take our new Saturn in. It has been having this annoying noise since the 3rd day of having it. I thought it was time to get it checked out. They fixed it after being there for an hr. It had something with dash. It is all fixed and no more noise. What to hear something very funny...I had Husband call Saturn to see if they could fit us in to have the car looked at. Well, he called and spoke to our wonderful service man, Steve. Steve first said to him that they were very busy and he needed to schedule for another day. When Dean told him his name and my name, Steve said not a problem, they would "Fit us in". Let's just say that Steve the service man really likes me. In the evening we cared our pumpkins.
Sunday...Husband and I went back to Saturn to get our free tank of gas. We got a free tank of gas by filling out their survey. We really needed the gas. Then we went to Walmart and got a few thing. After that we went to Winco and did some grocery shopping at ghettoland. NOT FUN on a Sunday or any day. We also just got done watching Meet the Robinson's. It was a cute movie, not the best Disney movie, but still entertaining.
See...busy weekend. Tomorrow I have a lunch date with Kathleen, an adoption friend. We will see how that goes. I will update tomorrow.
Cyber Shower Gift...
October 28, 2007
On Friday we received our cyber shower gift from the Oct DTC group. The theme was: Books. We received 2 books and a book marker from Haydee & Joe Frost from Pembroke Pines, FL. We would like to personally thank them for these wonderful books and cute bookmark. I have been very interested in the baby sign language. What a GREAT book. Thanks again.
Pumpkin Carving...
October 27, 2007
Look what we did tonight....We carved our 4 pumpkins. Husband is the creator and I am the pumpkin gut remover. This has been a tradition for us for a long time. We go to the pumpkin patch a couple of times in October and just before Halloween we spend a evening carving them. This year we made Kermit the Frog, PacMan with a ghost and our huge one as a monster scaring our smallest one. I think they turned out pretty good. What do you guys think? I can't wait till Halloween. We usually don't get much trick or treaters, but mom and I still sit outside hoping someone will come by. I guess we will see what happens. I guess Dean is trying to get someone from work that lives by us to bring his kids. I hope they do. I love Halloween. Only 4 more days.
2nd LIDversary Gift...
October 26, 2007
Yesterday we received our 2nd LIDversary gift from Corinne and her family. They sent us the most beautiful Christmas ornament. It IS perfect. It has a picture of the Great Wall of China and it has our LID and Alicyn Shea's name. We LOVE it. We would like to thank Corinne and her family again for making our 1 yr LIDversary very special. I hope next year at this time we have our referrals and know who are babies are. A girl can wish! :) This was a fun exchange. Thank you so much for putting this one on.
